Digital4Pharma 2024: Exploring New Digital Practices

For the 11th year, the educational conference, Digital 4Pharma by GET2WORK, was conducted with great success and active participation from more than 200 executives from over 30 companies.

Participants took the opportunity to learn, discuss, and discover current practices, innovative experiences, and modern trends surrounding the digital transition towards the hybrid era of the pharmaceutical market.

Initially, they actively participated in 5 exploration sessions, collectively creating original content, which representatives of the exploration teams then presented to the plenary. The themes of the sessions, from which they were invited to choose, revolved around categories such as Generative AI in pharma, Engagement and content potential through technology and interactions, Health trends on Social Media, assimilation of digital actions for the general public, and collaboration among generations X, Y, Z to enhance digital capability. Simultaneously and throughout the day, the experience hub was operational, where one could see new interactive technologies and solutions in areas such as VR, AR, and more.

Subsequently, in the plenary, selected business cases from the fields of pharmaceuticals and self-care were presented by speakers such as Evangelos Fragiskatos, Marketing Specialist Innovative Medicines, Bristol Myers Squibb, Spiros Bokias, Co-Founder and CEO, iPharma, and Nadia Mandopoulou, Digital Channels & Capabilities Associate Director, MSD Greece. For the first time in this section, a case study from the scientific community was presented by Professor of Cardiology at AUTH, George Giannakoulas, who “stole the show” by demonstrating how the creation and evolution of the educational platform Cardiobeans digitally developed a significant educational community in Cardiovascular Medicine.

The conference concluded with a panel debate of senior executives with experience from the pharmaceutical sector and beyond in areas such as Innovation, IT, Commercial, and Data, with local and international representations, commenting on the challenges and needs of the digital transition of the pharmaceutical market. The panel, aptly titled “Mind the Gap,” included: Semina Vayiakou, Digital and Innovation Head, Novartis Hellas; Georgios Filiotis, Director of Information Technology, Pharmaserve-Lilly S.A.C.I.; Elina Prassa, Head of Strategy & Data, Digital, Technology, Takeda; and Lazaros Mavridis, Data Science Director, AbbVie. The panel was moderated by Konstantinos Varsamos, founder & curator of the Digital4Pharma initiative and Managing Partner of GET2WORK.

The educational initiative Digital4Pharma was organized by GET2WORK, under the auspices of SFEE, P.E.F., PIF, E.E.Fa.M., EL.E.F.I., EFEX, EL.E.M.A., and HACRO.
